Explore the "art space" at Gia Lam Train Factory

NDO - Within the framework of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023, the capital's residents and visitors were truly overwhelmed by the installation art works displayed at the Gia Lam Train Factory.

Gia Lam Railway Factory was established in 1905 under the French colonial rule. From an old factory that was to be relocated out of the inner city - Gia Lam Railway Factory and Hanoi train stations were renovated into creative complexes, becoming places to "awaken" heritages, creating a new value system to serve the development of the capital's culture. At the Factory, there are about 10 art spaces, event venues during the days of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023 .

The art installation exhibition "The Call" by artist Thu Tran with 40-60m long paintings is hung on the ceiling of workshop 3B1. Each exhibition is built grandly, meticulously, and meticulously down to every detail. All create a giant space that preserves the flow of cultural heritage, the interweaving of old and new, of memory and future.

The long strips of paintings made from Oganza and silk fabrics really "overwhelm" the viewer.

Gia Lam Railway Factory (also known as Gia Lam Railway Factory, now Gia Lam Railway Company) was established in 1905 under the French colonial rule. The factory not only served the circulation of goods, with a wide network of agents, but also nurtured the movement of cultures and ideas, contributing to the formation of the Vietnamese subconscious.

After the renovation process, these artworks created a shimmering, colorful and magical space at Gia Lam Train Factory (Long Bien District) on the occasion of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023.

Ms. Kim Anh (Ba Dinh district) shared: “I like to watch works of art at night. Because in the quiet space, I can feel the beauty and message that the author sends to the viewer.”

The "Hot Workshop Architecture & Art Space" Pavilion displays artifacts existing in the workshop or interactive art programs with a new style of expression that is of particular interest to viewers.

The handicraft fair brings together many craft villages, artisans as well as handicraft projects of young people with a series of ceramic, bamboo and rattan products, do paper, etc.

In the 20-hectare campus of Hanoi Railway Factory , visitors will experience dozens of interesting activities organized interspersed such as: culinary experiences, craft fairs, art creations, craft village activities...

The exhibition "Tu Luc Steam Locomotive", a symbol of the railway industry, is on display within the framework of the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023.
