Opening of Vinatex Fashion Product Development and Business Center

Vinatex Fashion Product Development and Business Center was put into operation, aiming to realize the goal of "one destination", forming a knitting chain, promoting the existing advantages of scale and reputation of Vinatex.

Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) has just put into operation the Vinatex Product Development and Fashion Business Center (Vinatex PD&B) at 524 Minh Khai, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

Vinatex PD&B Center is equipped with modern facilities, meeting international standards, following the green and sustainable trend, within Vinatex's strategy to achieve the goal of net zero emissions.

The building of Vinatex PD&B Center has achieved the Gold Lotus green building certificate - a certificate of the Vietnam Green Building Council (equivalent to the LEED certificate of green buildings in the US but adjusted to suit the specific conditions of Vietnam).

The center builds an operating model that focuses mainly on developing FOB, ODM, OBM products for export and domestic use, fully equipped with functions to provide complete solutions for customers from the design stage (3D design); selection of raw materials with a diverse and rich showroom and fabric library.

The standard and creative studio supports customers in the process of sample development; quotation; sample sewing, sample fitting; managing production orders at the factory; the LAB room for product quality inspection is planned according to standards with darkroom, standard room, laundry room to meet the new product development requirements of long-term customers" - Director of Vinatex PD&B emphasized.

Mr. Vuong Duc Anh, Director of Vinatex PD&B Center said: "The Center has built a close connection between the Center and the system of factories at member units, ensuring connectivity and quick response to customers."

“We combine experienced staff with creative young staff to promote the Center's effective operation from the very beginning. Using common resources to develop both export and domestic markets in parallel, based on the existing retail distribution system and expanding new sales channels, building Vinatex's own brand,” said Mr. Duc Anh.

The establishment of Vinatex PD&B is a new step of Vinatex, aiming to guide businesses to convert to self-production and design (ODM) .

For raw material production units, the development of the PD&B Center is also an important step forward to help the production of woven and knitted fabrics to step out into the world.

In recent years, business upgrading and model conversion activities have taken place strongly in Vinatex units such as: Phong Phu International, Viet Tien, Nha Be, May 10, Duc Giang, Hoa Tho...

"Without a shift in business model, the textile and garment industry will certainly not be able to compete and develop in Vietnam when the income and wages of workers are currently four times higher than in Bangladesh, three times higher than in Cambodia and India...", said Mr. Le Tien Truong, Chairman of Vinatex Board of Directors.

With a labor-intensive industry like textiles, the entire industry must transform its business methods, improve labor productivity, and create higher added value.

However, the biggest weakness and lack of textile and garment enterprises in improving the quality and added value of products lies in labor productivity in the field of innovation. Accordingly, Vinatex PD&D was established to improve innovation productivity throughout the Group.
