On the evening of November 9, the People's Committee of Tra Vinh province opened the Cultural and Tourism Week associated with the Ok Om Bok festival of Tra Vinh province in 2024.

The Cultural and Tourism Week associated with the Ok Om Bok festival in Tra Vinh province includes the following activities: Southern culinary space; tourism exhibition space "Tra Vinh - Connection and Development"; trade promotion fair; Khmer amateur dance festival; display and demonstration of traditional Khmer crafts and costumes; water puppetry performance; Ngo boat racing; Ok Om Bok Festival night;...

Accordingly, the tourism exhibition space "Tra Vinh - Connecting and developing" with 20 tourism exhibition booths of 15 units from Can Tho city and the provinces of Long An, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai and tourism businesses in Tra Vinh province.

The Southern Cuisine Space of Tra Vinh province includes 50 booths with the participation of 30 units inside and outside the province such as: An Giang, Soc Trang, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh... The culinary booths display, process and perform dishes and drinks typical of each locality and region.

This is an opportunity for restaurants, hotels and artisans to exchange and share experiences in preparing delicious dishes to serve domestic and international tourists.

The trade promotion fair took place at the provincial convention center square with 300 booths displaying typical rural industrial products and OCOP products of enterprises and cooperatives inside and outside the province.

In particular, the Tra Vinh province open boat race taking place on November 13 and 14, 2024 on Long Binh river, Tra Vinh city, promises to bring viewers exciting and dramatic competitions.

Ok Om Bok Festival, also known as the Moon Worshiping Festival, takes place on the full moon day of the 10th lunar month every year. This is a major folk festival of the Khmer people, held at the end of the harvest season to express gratitude to the moon - a god according to the beliefs of the Khmer people in the South who helps protect crops, regulate the weather, and bring prosperity to the people in phum and soc.

As planned, the Cultural and Tourism Week associated with the Ok Om Bok festival in Tra Vinh province in 2024 will take place from November 9 to 15, 2024.

This is an activity to preserve, promote and maintain the traditional festival of the Khmer ethnic group in Tra Vinh province, which has been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. At the same time, it introduces and promotes the cultural values ​​of ethnic groups and tourism potential to attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
