Opening of the exhibition of the capital's armed forces in the cause of fighting against the US to save the country

In her opening speech, Vice Chairman of Dong Anh District People's Committee Nguyen Thi Tam said: The photo exhibition of the Hanoi Capital Armed Forces with the cause of building and protecting the Capital is an opportunity for us to review the glorious traditional history of the nation, the heroic feats of arms of our army and people, the tradition of the Hanoi Capital Armed Forces. Thereby, arousing national pride, self-esteem, enhancing patriotism; striving to build a strong national defense, building an increasingly solid national defense posture associated with the people's security posture in Hanoi, contributing to the development of the local socio-economy and firmly protecting the Fatherland.

The exhibition with the theme "The Armed Forces of Hanoi Capital in the cause of fighting against America to save the country" is divided into 3 parts: Part 1 is "Hanoi - The great rear of the Southern frontline"; part 2 is "Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air" creating an important turning point to liberate the South and unify the country; part 3 is "Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City today".

The exhibition displays more than 200 images, documents, and artifacts recreating the heroic history of the army and people of Hanoi in the cause of fighting against the US to save the country; continuing to encourage cadres, soldiers, and people of all walks of life in the capital, especially cadres, soldiers of the armed forces, and people of Dong Anh district to uphold the spirit of self-reliance, self-strengthening, promoting the tradition of the thousand-year-old capital, the tradition of the heroic homeland of Dong Anh; the tradition of the capital's armed forces through 79 years of construction, fighting, and growth, striving to compete to excellently complete all tasks, contributing to building and firmly protecting the Fatherland, protecting the capital in the new situation.

The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is an opportunity to review the heroic history of the nation, widely propagate the great stature and great historical value of the Great Victory of Spring 1975, look back on the journey of striving to build and develop the country; at the same time, help future generations to more deeply perceive the values ​​and lessons learned from the practical struggles of the nation, in order to add strength and determination in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, turning the glorious achievements of the past into the driving force to fulfill the historical mission in the new era - the era of national development.
