The semiconductor industry, with its pivotal role in the digital economy, is increasingly asserting its important position as the world enters the era of Industry 4.0. Semiconductor technology has been and is being applied in many different fields such as mobile devices, the automotive industry, and the manufacturing industry. Realizing the great potential of this industry, many countries in the world have been and are making efforts to build and develop their semiconductor industry, in order to improve competitiveness and ensure economic security.

The current domestic and international context and available national advantages are opportunities for Vietnam to proactively participate more deeply in the semiconductor industry in the following direction: Taking human resource development as the first step and top priority to develop the Vietnamese semiconductor industry; proactively participating in all stages of the supply chain, from design, packaging, testing to production, gradually becoming a center for semiconductor human resources, a center for semiconductor research, manufacturing and providing manufacturing services for the global semiconductor industry.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion (HPA) Nguyen Anh Duong said: Capital Law No. 39/2024/QH15 dated June 28, 2024 identifies semiconductors as a priority sector to attract strategic investors of the capital. Strategic investors selected according to regulations in the semiconductor sector will enjoy many investment incentives of Hanoi.

With the goal of connecting, promoting investment, trade, and promoting the development of the semiconductor industry in Hanoi and the ecosystem of the semiconductor and high-tech industry, the Hanoi People's Committee directed and assigned HPA to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA), the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park Management Board and Hanoi University of Science and Technology to organize the Hanoi Semiconductor Technology Investment Connection Festival 2024.

“The festival aims to provide information on the development situation, orientation and solutions to promote the development and cooperation of semiconductor technology enterprises in Hanoi in the coming time; opportunities and solutions to develop human resources in the semiconductor sector in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park in particular and Hanoi in general,” Mr. Nguyen Anh Duong emphasized.
At the same time, connect, promote investment and trade in the semiconductor industry in Hanoi, Vietnam, domestically and internationally, with products belonging to the semiconductor, high-tech and future technology industry ecosystem. Thereby, state management agencies can propose appropriate policies to develop high-quality human resources, create important conditions to attract investors in the semiconductor industry, towards establishing research centers, semiconductor manufacturing and providing manufacturing services for the domestic and foreign semiconductor industry.

With a scale of nearly 2,500 m2 with about 60 booths. Here, units in the semiconductor and high-tech ecosystem display products and technology solutions; connect, promote investment, trade, and business cooperation. Through the Exhibition, the Hanoi People's Committee hopes to promote, disseminate, and introduce typical technology products and solutions, connecting businesses in the semiconductor ecosystem of Hanoi in particular and the whole country in general. From there, promote exchanges, cooperation, sharing, learning experiences and searching, expanding markets, opening up many business cooperation opportunities in the coming time.
The event takes place over 3 days, from July 29-31, including 1 conference, exhibition and 3 thematic talks and seminars. Specifically: The conference on connecting investment and developing the semiconductor industry in Hanoi city in 2024 took place on July 29 at the Hall of Building C2, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. The Hanoi Semiconductor Industry Connection, Investment Promotion and Trade Exhibition 2024 takes place from July 29-31 in the area opposite Ta Quang Buu Library, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Seminar 1 with the topic: Potential and challenges of attracting foreign investment in the semiconductor industry in Hanoi took place on July 30 at the area opposite Ta Quang Buu Library, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Seminar 2 with the topic: Building an ecosystem for the semiconductor industry in Hanoi, Vietnam took place on July 31 at the area opposite Ta Quang Buu Library, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. Workshop: Developing human resources for the semiconductor industry took place on July 31 at the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) - Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, Km29 Thang Long Avenue, Thach That, Hanoi. |
