On the morning of November 24, the National Innovation and Startup Festival and Ho Chi Minh City Innovation and Startup Week 2023 (Techfest – Whise 2023) took place at the 272 Conference Center (272 Vo Thi Sau, District 3) and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Hall. Techfest – Whise 2023 is chaired by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City and other implementing units. With the theme "Promoting national resources - Enhancing the Vietnamese innovation and startup ecosystem to integrate internationally", Techfest – Whise 2023 brings opportunities to connect financial resources, partners, promote domestic and international market development. Exhibitions and knowledge-sharing seminars aim to help businesses promote economic efficiency.

Techfest – Whise 2023 takes place on November 24 and 25, with nearly 200 booths introducing projects and products of innovative enterprises in Vietnam and other countries in the region. The exhibition is expected to increase business networking activities, connections and expand cooperation opportunities.
In addition, Techfest – Whise 2023 also hosts 40 events from state agencies, socio-political organizations to domestic and foreign enterprises to promote an open innovation ecosystem, with the participation of large enterprise networks, expert communities, and innovative startups to develop products from exploiting local resources.

The exhibition also introduces solutions for global food security, logistics platforms to serve and ensure supply chains in case of natural disasters, epidemics and new energy technologies with the aim of ensuring sustainable development.

Within the framework of Techfest Week - Whise 2023, the Techfest Imprint 2023 program will take place, including 1 panel discussion and 26 thematic workshops, discussing the development strategy of Vietnam's economy through business development, open innovation, creating an environment to promote creativity and innovation, and policies to develop the startup ecosystem.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai welcomed and highly appreciated the exhibition of innovative startup products and services at Techfest - Whise 2023. The exhibition not only featured innovative startup products and services, but also startup stories, about how to create and develop the ecosystem and the connection and cooperation for development in the startup community.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City is the largest economic, cultural, scientific and technological center in the country and is ranked 114/1,000 cities with dynamic ecosystems globally, ranking third in the ASEAN region in terms of ecosystem value, with an economic impact of up to 5.22 billion USD, only behind Singapore and Jakarta (Indonesia).
Over the years, the city has always paid attention to, supported and created favorable conditions for businesses and startups to develop, such as preferential policies for science and technology development, promoting innovation and startups such as tax exemptions and reductions, and policies to support the startup ecosystem.
With these outstanding policies, along with existing and improving platforms, Ho Chi Minh City is aiming to become the most dynamic innovation and startup center in Southeast Asia and the region.
