Opening of Vietnam Family Day 2024

On the evening of June 25, at the Hai Phong Information, Exhibition and Cinema Center, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Hai Phong City People's Committee to open the 2024 Vietnamese Family Festival with the theme "Happy Family, Prosperous Nation".

The opening ceremony attracted the participation of localities such as Hai Phong, Son La, Yen Bai, Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Dak Lak, An Giang , Hau Giang, Bac Lieu... The program included many activities such as exhibitions and displays on the topic "Family cultural traditions in the community of Vietnamese ethnic groups"; Art festival with the theme "Family joy", exchange "Sports in Vietnamese families"...

In her opening speech, Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that since 2001, the Prime Minister has decided to choose June 28 every year as Vietnam Family Day. Along with organizing meaningful activities across the country on this day, Vietnam Family Day also contributes to affirming the role and position of the family as well as the responsibility of sectors, levels and the whole society in building civilized, equal, progressive and happy families, promoting the work of protecting, caring for andeducating children, contributing to building and defending the Fatherland in the new period.

Vietnamese Family Day is an occasion to honor the traditional humanistic values ​​of the family, for all family members to show more concern for each other, share and appreciate, and at the same time is a day for Vietnamese people to turn to their roots, to their relatives, to their loving home, to nurture beautiful feelings, and noble cultural values ​​of the nation.

Mr. Le Khac Nam, Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee said: "Along with socio-economic development, Hai Phong city always pays attention to the movement of building cultural families, cultural villages, and cultural residential groups. Every year, the locality organizes a conference to honor typical cultural families; build models of "Sustainably developed rural families", "young families" and effectively implement the Strategy for developing Vietnamese families to 2025, with a vision to 2030 in the city".

The series of activities of the Festival also includes the display of traditional handicrafts, regional specialties serving families of units, businesses, associations, etc. of provinces and cities representing regions of the country; Exchanges and meetings with idols with the theme "Sports in Vietnamese Families" meeting with editors and typical sports athletes; Art Festival "Family Joy" with the participation of teams from Hai Phong, Hanoi and neighboring provinces; Traditional folk art exchange; Fashion show "Nurturing Happiness"; Art exchange "Summer of Childhood", Gala "Happy Dance" ... bringing the public many interesting experiences, contributing to making the atmosphere of the Festival more special and meaningful.

The festival takes place from June 25 to 29.
