The sports festival gathered 11 teams of athletes from 6 brigades, 2 schools, the Technical Department, the Bomb and Mine Disposal Technology Center and Battalion 93 - General Staff. The athletes competed in 4 military sports and 2 Olympic sports, including: Strong Soldier, Armed Swimming, Physical Training Obstacle Course, Four Combined Military Sports, Soccer, and Volleyball.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Sports Festival, Major General Tran Trung Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Commander of the Engineer Corps, affirmed that in the past time, despite having to carry out many tasks at the same time, agencies and units in the entire Corps have thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented the directives and plans for organizing the Sports Festival; actively deployed the preparation work, organized the grassroots Sports Festival, selected athletes and organized training to participate in the Corps-level Sports Festival. The Sports Festival aims to evaluate the results of physical training and sports activities of agencies and units in the Corps; at the same time, through the Sports Festival, select a team of outstanding coaches and athletes to prepare to participate in the 2023 Army-wide Football and Volleyball Sports Festival.

In order for the 2023 Engineering Corps Sports Festival to take place as planned and achieve the set goals and requirements, Major General Tran Trung Hoa requested that athletes participating in the Sports Festival strictly comply with military discipline, competition regulations and rules, and regulations of the Organizing Committee; actively study, exchange, and gain experience in organizing and conducting competitions; the referee team must evaluate the results promptly, accurately, objectively, fairly, and honestly; officers and soldiers in the entire Corps must strive to train their physical strength, further spreading the spirit of physical training following the example of great Uncle Ho, meeting the requirements: "Healthy to build and defend the Fatherland", successfully completing assigned tasks...
