On December 15, at the 229th Engineer Brigade, the Engineer Corps held a meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 / December 22, 2024), and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 / December 22, 2024). Major General Tran Trung Hoa, Commander of the Engineer Corps chaired the meeting.
Attending the event were Major General Dinh Ngoc Tuong, Political Commissar of the Engineering Corps; leaders and former leaders of the Engineering Corps through the periods, along with officers and commanders of agencies and units under the Corps.

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the heroic and glorious tradition of the Engineering Corps. Major General Tran Trung Hoa affirmed that the officers and soldiers of the Engineering Corps are always proud to wear the uniform of the Vietnam People's Army, promoting the tradition of "Opening the way to victory" of the Corps.
In recent times, the Command of the Corps has directed agencies and units to strive to compete to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army with practical activities. Thereby, it aims to deeply educate officers and soldiers about the stature, significance, and important role of the Vietnam People's Army; and the glorious tradition of the Corps.
The entire army united, promoted the building of a strong, comprehensive, "exemplary" unit and successfully completed assigned tasks, ensuring safety, notably: Building national defense works; clearing bombs, mines, and explosives left over from the war; training, combat readiness; education and training; logistics and technical work; participating in United Nations peacekeeping activities; participating in helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, storms and floods...

Major General Tran Trung Hoa said that in 2025, the Engineering Corps will continue to unite and be highly determined to successfully complete assigned tasks; do a good job of advising the head of the Ministry of National Defense to build the Engineering Corps to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation. The Corps will continue to carry out tasks in the Phong Chau bridge area. At the same time, it will prepare well for the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Congress of the Party; continue to organize well the activities to celebrate the country's major holidays.

Earlier, in the morning of the same day, the delegation of the Engineer Corps marched to the source, laid flowers at the monument of the founding stele of the 151st Engineer Regiment - the first engineer regiment of the Vietnam People's Army, the predecessor of Brigade 229 in Khuon Lan village, Hop Thanh commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province; and presented gifts to policy families and families in difficult circumstances in the area.
