Opening of the Trade Promotion Fair to promote tourism and culture in Bac Tu Liem district

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day October 13; implementing Program No. 03/Ctr-UBND of the City People's Committee on promoting investment, trade and tourism in Hanoi in 2024, the City Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center coordinated with the People's Committee of Bac Tu Liem District to organize "Trade promotion fair associated with promoting tourism and culture of Bac Tu Liem District".

The fair will take place from September 26 to September 29, 2024 at the large square of Hoa Binh Park, Xuan Dinh Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, Hanoi .

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Fair on the evening of September 26, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Tu Liem District, said that the district was established and officially put into operation on April 1, 2014. Bac Tu Liem District is a locality with great potential for developing trade, tourism in general and cultural tourism in particular with the following 5 highlights.

Firstly, the location, terrain, natural environment and culture of Bac Tu Liem are imbued with a rich history and cultural depth with many unique characteristics; at the same time, it is a land rich in revolutionary traditions.

The district converges many cultural heritages of ancient Vietnamese people, rich in quantity and diverse in types with 135 relics (including: 63 relics ranked by the State as historical and cultural relics, including 1 special national relic, 48 national relics, 14 city-level relics); 35 intangible cultural heritages with 02 festivals included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages.

The district has ancient villages, traditional craft villages that have entered the people's minds and many revolutionary and resistance relics marked in the nation's history.

The names of Dinh Chem Festival, Dam Swimming Festival, Dong Ngac Ancient Village of Scholars, national treasure - the bell of Ngo Dynasty,... have become familiar to the people of Hanoi and the whole country, gradually attracting international visitors. Up to now, memorial houses, museums,... are being built and developed in the area such as General Van Tien Dung Memorial House, General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum,...

Second, Bac Tu Liem is also the birthplace of many famous craft villages with products that have been affirmed for their quality both domestically and internationally, such as: Tay Tuu flowers; Dong Ngac - Duc Thang ornamental plants; Dien grapefruit; Xuan Dinh sapodilla; Xuan Dinh - Xuan Tao confectionery; Chem ham, Nem Ve ham - Thuy Phuong; ham, sausage, Chung cake, Thuong Cat rice cake, My Lan - Co Nhue sewing craft...

Third, in the District there are 3 rivers (Red River, Nhue River, Cau Da River); especially 8.1 km of the Red River is the lifeblood of Hanoi Capital with ports, alluvial land, relics, craft villages, ... stretching across 4 wards of Dong Ngac, Thuy Phuong, Lien Mac, Thuong Cat.

Fourthly, the district has a large population among the City's districts with over 360,000 people; total natural area of ​​4,335.34 ha (43.35 km²); has been covered by zoning plans (S1, S2, GS, H2-1, R) with administrative agencies, commercial centers, parks, museums, large-scale ecological urban areas of Hanoi and the whole country; promises to become a modern and sustainably developed urban center in the future.

There are many important inter-provincial traffic routes passing through the District (National Highway 32, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 3.5, Provincial Road 69, 70, etc.). In the period of 2014-2024, the District implemented 304 traffic projects with a total planned capital of over 3,998.3 billion VND; to date, 235 projects have been completed (including some important routes such as: Construction of Nam Thang Long route to Ring Road 4, etc.) and is currently attracting investment to develop the waterway traffic system.

By 2024, the District's economy has grown rapidly and strongly, with the total production value in the District estimated at 71,676 billion VND, an increase of 343% compared to 2014; the average annual growth rate of production value in the District since its establishment is 16%; of which, the structure of the trade and service sector accounts for 33.52%.

Fifth, the Party Committee, government and people of Bac Tu Liem district have great determination and a strategy to build a green economic zone with a focus on developing entertainment, resort and eco-tourism, cultural tourism and festivals. Along with the development momentum of the past 10 years, with determination and favorable geographical location, Bac Tu Liem district will soon have new developments, creating higher labor productivity and greater efficiency for the economic development of the capital and the country.

Therefore, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tuyen stated that the Trade Promotion Fair linking tourism and culture promotion of Bac Tu Liem district will be a program to unite and develop the economy of Bac Tu Liem district.

With 100 booths of nearly 100 units and enterprises from more than 30 provinces and cities nationwide and traditional craft villages in Hanoi participating in the exhibition, introducing typical products, local specialties, processed agricultural products, consumer goods, household appliances, handicrafts and some high-tech products... as well as promoting the image of local culture and history. This is a good opportunity to introduce the potential strengths and typical products of localities; a trade bridge for production and business units with consumers, carrying out the task of stimulating domestic consumption in the city.

In addition to trade promotion activities and local culture and tourism promotion; the Fair will also feature activities such as: Product demonstration; traditional Ao Dai performance; product trial experience; traditional cultural and artistic activities combined with modern and street art.

In particular, the Fair also has spaces: Exhibition displaying fossil products of Hanoi Fossil Museum; Space for books and fun activities for children; Space for free health check-ups, product display areas of Vinfast automobile and electric motorbike companies, Harley-Davidson motorbike companies, etc.
