Opening of the Trade Promotion Fair for the Collective and Cooperative Economic Sector in 2024

The fair is part of the national program on trade promotion in 2024 approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade , and is also an event responding to the month of action for cooperatives in 2024.

In addition, the Fair also aims to promote propaganda and dissemination to raise awareness of the results and achievements of the collective economic sector and cooperatives (Cooperatives) for all cadres, civil servants and employees in the system of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance in general and the Cooperative Alliances of provinces and cities in particular. The Fair is an opportunity for cooperatives, cooperative unions and cooperative groups (CGAs) of provinces and cities to display, promote, introduce and consume products of each region.

The fair is a place for partners, organizations and businesses to meet, exchange experiences, seek opportunities for investment cooperation, joint ventures, associations, and application of science and technology in the production and business process according to the value chain to improve product quality to meet domestic and export requirements, contributing to gradually overcoming and removing "bottlenecks" in product consumption activities, towards building the image, reputation and brand of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance for sustainable development.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Department of Trade Promotion (XTTM), Ministry of Industry and Trade said: Cooperatives are currently identified as a bridge linking farmers closely with businesses as well as an important link in the production and consumption chain, the basis for linking production and business between all economic entities to expand scale, increase production efficiency and product consumption, towards forming sustainable production chains and added value.

According to Mr. Vu Ba Phu, the National Program on Trade Promotion, Trade Promotion Fair for the Collective Economic Sector and Cooperatives 2024 is a large-scale and important trade promotion activity for the cooperative economic sector, jointly directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance with the goal of promoting trade promotion to develop products and goods, creating opportunities for meetings and connections between cooperatives with enterprises, distributors, exporters, promoting investment links in production, business and product consumption according to the value chain, thereby enhancing the position and role of the collective economy and cooperatives in the market economy and international integration.

We acknowledge and appreciate the cooperation and companionship of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance as well as the Cooperative Alliances of provinces/cities across the country in the past time in maintaining the organization of annual Trade Promotion Fairs for the collective economic sector and cooperatives, becoming prestigious trade promotion events that contribute to supporting cooperatives and enterprises in localities to promote their products to consumers nationwide, promoting close links between localities to develop an effective supply - consumption chain in the domestic market and serving exports ”, Mr. Vu Ba Phu emphasized.

Providing more information at the event, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, said: With the efforts of the entire system, the Fair was organized according to the set plan. Up to now, 120 cooperatives and 30 enterprises from 44 provinces and cities have participated with more than 150 booths. The units have brought to the Fair thousands of agricultural products, vegetables, tubers, fruits, medicinal herbs, wooden products, handicrafts, consumer goods reflecting the potential, advantages, production capacity, and cultural nuances of localities and regions.

The items displayed at the fair are vegetables, fruits; processed agricultural products; nutritional products; organic foods; products that are specialties of regions and traditional craft villages; handicraft and garment products; machinery, equipment, high-tech agricultural materials;... all ensuring VietGap, GlobalGap, VSATTP standards, OCOP products,...

The main events taking place at the Fair include: Displaying, introducing and selling products, goods and services, branded and produced with high technology, organic, ensuring safety standards; Promoting products, goods and services of cooperatives and enterprises participating in the value chain; Organizing connections between supply and demand of goods and products, negotiating and signing trade promotion agreements between cooperatives and domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations; Organizing trade promotion consulting activities, consulting on access to credit capital, technology and investment for cooperatives.

The 2024 Trade Promotion Fair for Collective and Cooperative Economic Sectors (Northern Region) takes place for 5 days from April 18-22 at Tran Nhan Tong walking street and Thong Nhat park, Nguyen Du ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi city.
