Opening of the 2024 Men's and Women's Volleyball Tournament of the Party Agencies' Emulation Block

This morning, October 4, at the Quang Tri Provincial Multi-purpose Gymnasium, the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Men's and Women's Volleyball Tournament for the Emulation Block of Party Agencies took place. This is a practical activity to celebrate the major holidays of the homeland and country in 2024; the traditional days of Party Committees and Party Committee Offices.

Participating in the tournament were 8 men's and women's volleyball teams (including a joint team of 2 units) from 9 units: Quang Tri Newspaper; Le Duan Political School; Provincial Party Committee of Agencies and Enterprises; Provincial Party Committee Office; Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Committee; Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee with a total of 120 athletes.

The teams are divided into two groups and compete in a round-robin format. The two teams with the highest scores in each group will advance to the semi-finals; then the winners of each semi-final will advance to the final to compete for first and second place; the two losing teams will compete for third place.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, Head of the Emulation Block of Party Agencies, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament Truong Duc Minh Tu happily welcomed the delegations of athletes participating in the tournament. At the same time, he affirmed that the participation of the delegations of athletes will contribute to strengthening solidarity and exchanging and learning from each other among the units in the Emulation Block of Party Agencies.

Thereby, in order to promote the achieved results, continue to innovate, promote the patriotic emulation movement among agencies in the bloc, strive to excellently complete political tasks, Party building work, and mass organizations in each unit; continue to maintain the Movement for the entire people to exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho, promote the sports and physical training movement in the entire emulation bloc.

At the opening ceremony, on behalf of the teams, athlete Le Van Minh and the Quang Tri Newspaper team promised to compete with the spirit of sportsmanship, dedication, responsibility, and for the country's flag; representing the referee team, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thao swore to conduct the matches of the tournament fairly, objectively, impartially and in accordance with the tournament's regulations.

After the opening ceremony, two matches took place: Quang Tri Newspaper team met Le Duan Political School team; Provincial Party Committee of Agencies and Enterprises team met Provincial Party Committee Office team.

The matches were exciting and dramatic with beautiful plays and scores being compared to the enthusiastic cheers of a large audience.

The final matches, third place match and closing ceremony and awards ceremony will take place on the morning of September 5.
