Today, September 10, the 8th Eastern International Economic Forum (EEF 2023) opened at the Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island in Vladivostok, Russia. About 7,000 delegates representing more than 50 countries and territories attended the Forum.

On September 10, the 8th Eastern International Economic Forum (EEF 2023) opened at the Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island in Vladivostok, Russia. The EEF will last until September 13.
About 7,000 delegates representing more than 50 countries and territories attended the Forum, including Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing, Lao Vice President Pani Yathotou, Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport General Mya Tun U, and senior officials from the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Singapore, etc.
President Putin will attend the EEF 2023 plenary session together with Lao Vice President Pani Yathotou on September 12. The Vietnamese delegation is led by Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Do Thanh Trung.
In his congratulatory letter to the Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that this is a Forum of high international prestige and creates an important opportunity for businessmen, politicians, public figures and experts from all over the world to participate in direct dialogue.
The Forum has traditionally sought to address the most pressing issues facing the economic, social and infrastructure development of the Russian Far East and various aspects of cooperation and integration in the broader Asia-Pacific region.
The theme of this year's Forum is “The Path to Partnership, Peace and Prosperity”, reflecting Russia's desire to build constructive relations with all interested foreign partners.
This also shows that the Russian Federation is completely open to comprehensive dialogue on pressing regional issues and intends to continue to actively participate in efforts to nurture relations between countries in the Asia-Pacific region and contribute to a system based on equality, mutual benefit and respect, in the legitimate interests of all.
Discussions during the Forum's plenary sessions, panel discussions and thematic roundtables will focus on prospects for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, science and technology, identifying ways to create new, highly efficient production and logistics chains, modernizing transport and energy systems, and ensuring food and environmental security in the region.
In the current economic and political context, the Eastern International Economic Forum is an important event for Russia to promote its policy towards the East, and is also a place to put forward ideas and initiatives to form a dynamic economic development region in Asia-Pacific in general, and Southeast Asia in particular.
