On the evening of December 1, the People's Committee of Thai Binh province held the opening ceremony of the Cultural Exchange Program - connecting Vietnamese - Korean enterprises and the 2023 Northern Delta International Agricultural Fair at Thai Binh Square, Hoang Dieu ward, Thai Binh city.

Attending the program, on the Korean side were former President of Korea Lee Myung Bak; Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young Sam;

On the Vietnamese side, there were former President Truong Tan Sang; former Politburo member, former Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong and representatives of ministries, central agencies, provinces and cities in the Northern Delta region...

On the side of Thai Binh province, there were the participation of Central Party Committee member, Secretary of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee Ngo Dong Hai, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council Nguyen Tien Thanh, Chairman of Thai Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Than and representatives of leaders of departments, branches, businesses and people in the province.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Binh province, said that Thai Binh is a land with a long-standing cultural and historical tradition, nourished by the alluvium of the largest rivers in the Northern region, with people originating from many regions of the country.

Thai Binh is a place where many cultural and civilized aspects of the Northern Delta converge and spread. The province still preserves a huge treasure of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage with nearly 3,000 ancient architectural works, hundreds of village festivals, folk games, folk performances imbued with traditional cultural nuances of the Vietnamese people, typically the art of Cheo and water puppetry; many diverse Han Nom heritages, reflecting the unique characteristics of the land and people of Thai Binh.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Than said: "Through these series of events, Thai Binh province wishes to strengthen and further tighten the close relationship between the two countries and peoples, as well as create opportunities for organizations, businesses and people not only from Thai Binh but also from the Northern region to learn and exchange culture with Korean partners through experiencing some Korean cultural specialties. Specifically: Cuisine, music, experience wearing traditional costumes, embroidery art, dances, traditional Korean ritual music and exchange and learn through Korean working culture.

At the same time, Korean partners also gained more understanding of Vietnamese cultural traditions and the unique cultural features of Thai Binh province, such as the art of Cheo singing, water puppetry, historical and cultural relics, architecture, and traditional craft villages..."

Former President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak commented: "Thanks to the tireless efforts and dedication of all the people over the past time, Thai Binh has risen to become the region with the fastest economic growth rate in Vietnam. Since being designated as an Economic Zone by the Vietnamese Government in 2018, Thai Binh has been developing as a new industrial city and has achieved amazing results that far exceed itself. I believe that Thai Binh will soon rise to become a major economic center of Vietnam in the near future."

Mr. Lee Myung-bak affirmed that this is the most meaningful and largest cultural event held in Vietnam this year. This event is not only a symbol of the development of Thai Binh province, but it is also the clearest evidence of the rapid growth that the province has achieved in recent times.

"Through this event, the two countries hope to create more opportunities for exchange and cooperation, thereby strengthening the friendly relationship between Vietnam and Korea. Hopefully, this event will be a good opportunity for all Vietnamese people, especially Thai Binh people, to experience Korean cultural, artistic and culinary activities. At the same time, I hope it will be a good motivation for the Vietnamese people in general and Thai Binh people in particular to have more opportunities to get closer to the people and country of Korea," former President Lee Myung-bak emphasized.

With the theme “Thai Binh Homecoming Day - Connecting culture, strengthening friendship between Vietnam and Korea in Thai Binh”, the Cultural Exchange Program - Connecting Vietnamese - Korean businesses “Thai Binh Homecoming Day” will take place from December 1-2.

The program includes events with many special topics that will take place including: Thai Binh - Korea cultural and artistic exchange; Thai Binh - Korea investment, trade and tourism promotion conference; Exploring national historical relics; Visiting and learning about investment opportunities in industrial parks in Thai Binh Economic Zone; Music festival with the participation of many famous artists and singers from Vietnam and Korea.

The 2023 Northern Delta International Agricultural Fair will be held from November 30 to December 6 at Thai Binh Square. This is an annual fair held in Thai Binh City on a large scale, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign organizations and businesses to participate.

This year in particular, the Northern Delta International Agricultural Fair is organized in conjunction with the Cultural Exchange Program - connecting Vietnamese - Korean businesses "Thai Binh Homecoming Day", with a scale of over 300 booths, with the participation of many large branded businesses from Vietnam and Korea.
