Most recently, on a cycling trip from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Dustin had the opportunity to visit many provinces and cities and explore the cuisine in each region.

When arriving in Huong Khe town (Ha Tinh province), the American YouTuber accidentally learned about a delicious and affordable dish. That is congee.

Dustin admitted that because he has eaten pho and bun cha many times, now he likes any new dish he finds and is happy to have the opportunity to enjoy it.

“I’m a bit bored with pho, vermicelli, or bun cha, so I’m happy with anything else I can find. It’s been a while since I’ve had congee, but recently I’ve had similar dishes like eel congee and eel soup in Vinh City, Nghe An,” Dustin said.

According to Western guests, congee has a delicious and unique flavor. However, this dish is served hot and can easily burn your mouth, so diners should enjoy it slowly.

After finishing the first bowl, Dustin ordered another full bowl of porridge. The American guy revealed that he ate more not only because it was delicious but also because he needed to regain his strength.

“I’m burning a lot of energy because I cycle every day. I burn about 9,000 calories a day, so I need to eat enough to have the energy to continue the journey,” the 36-year-old YouTuber shared.

In addition to the taste, he was also surprised because the porridge dish was affordable, only 25,000 VND/bowl.
