The Seoul Metropolitan Government confirmed the news on May 28, saying the hotel, called Sky Suite, is located on the Hangang Bridge connecting the northern and southern parts of the South Korean capital. The hotel, which overlooks the Han River, is expected to open in July.
“With the opening of the Hangang Bridge Sky Suite, the city aims to share the charm of the Han River and Seoul with the world,” said Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon. The Seoul government stressed that this is the world’s first hotel located on a bridge.
Previously, this building was a coffee shop but it was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since December 2023, the building has been renovated and converted into a 144 m2 hotel.
The hotel includes a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom, accommodating up to four guests. Five glass windows will allow guests to enjoy views of the Han River from every corner of the hotel.
A night's stay at the hotel will cost from 345,000 won (6.4 million VND) to 500,000 won (9.3 million VND).
