After the Lunar New Year, Noi Bai airport welcomed 233 international flights with 38,000 passengers arriving and departing, surpassing the peak of 2019.
In the week after Tet, the airport served 94,100 passengers per day, up 19% compared to the previous week. International visitors increased by 14%, reaching an average of nearly 36,000 passengers per day, surpassing the peak of Tet in 2019 of 34,000 passengers.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam recorded that during the 7 days of Tet, domestic airlines transported 633,000 passengers on international routes, an increase of nearly 49% over the same period last year.
From 8pm to midnight, international passengers and their families gather in large numbers in the public lobby to complete check-in procedures. Authorities must work hard to ensure security, order and passenger flow.

Units also increase the application of information technology in flight operations, increase flight punctuality index, and prioritize parking spaces for passengers.
Airport representatives recommend that passengers arrive at the airport at least 3 hours before departure time to complete all aviation procedures in time, avoiding the risk of local congestion at the terminal during peak hours, especially in the evening and at night.
The airport also limits relatives from entering the check-in area during peak hours to create a smooth flow of traffic. Passengers' relatives are required to follow instructions to pick up and drop off in the correct designated areas, ensuring security and order at the port.
Currently, Vietnam Airports Corporation has started the project to expand passenger terminal T2 to increase the service capacity from 10 million passengers to 15 million passengers per year, expected to be completed in 2026.
