Lao Cai train staff returned belongings to a Taiwanese (Chinese) passenger who left them on the train during the journey to Hanoi station.
SP4 train captain Pham Thanh Hoa said that the train crew returned the Taiwanese passenger’s belongings left behind on the train from Lao Cai station to Hanoi station last night (October 10). When the train arrived at the Pho Lu - Cau Nho section, the attendant in charge of car number 13 Luong Ngoc Duc discovered a gray wallet that the passenger had left behind while cleaning. Duc immediately contacted train captain Hoa to report the incident.

Upon receiving the news, Train Captain Pham Thanh Hoa and the train security guard were present at car 13 and proceeded to make a record and inventory the property. The wallet contained 25 Taiwanese bills, 44 Vietnamese Dong bills, with a total value of about 28 million VND. In addition, there was a passport in the name of Chei Hui Mei, Taiwan (China). Afterwards, Train Captain Hoa and the German staff went to each passenger compartment to find the owner of the wallet. After confirming that this was the property of passenger Chei Hui Mei, the train captain returned it in full in front of the passengers in the compartment. Female tourist Chei Hui Mei was very happy and grateful to receive her property and passport back. It is known that to meet the increasing demand of tourists to Sapa during the ripe rice season, from October 17, 2024, the railway will organize an additional train SP7 departing from Hanoi station every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 10:40 p.m., arriving at Lao Cai station at 6:25 a.m.
