Absent-minded passenger leaves valuable jewelry on train

Informing Giao thong Newspaper, Passenger Train Captain Dinh Quang Son said that the Thong Nhat SE7/8 train crew (Southern Railway Attendant Team) under his charge had just returned passenger property at Cho Sy station this morning (December 21).

Train captain Son said the incident was discovered at around 1:15 p.m. yesterday (December 20), after train SE8 left Cho Sy station (Nghe An) and continued its journey to Hanoi station. While cleaning the area where passengers had just gotten off the train, the attendant in charge of car 4, Nguyen Van Ngoc, discovered a used black handbag in bed number 7.

Train captain Dinh Quang Son returned all the belongings left behind by the passengers.

Knowing that the property was left behind by a passenger, flight attendant Ngoc immediately reported to the train captain Son to make a record and find a way to return it.

Captain Son checked and found gold-colored metal jewelry inside the bag, including a bracelet, a necklace, three rings, and a gold guarantee, which showed the jewelry's value to be nearly 40 million VND.

In addition, there were many important documents such as citizen identification, driver's license and some Vietnamese Dong, other personal items.

Checking the ticket control software, train captain Son contacted and confirmed that the passenger who left his belongings on the train was Mr. Vu Ngoc Le, with ticket number 7, car 4, departure station Da Nang, arrival station Cho Sy. The passenger agreed that after arriving at Hanoi station, the train crew would continue to be in charge of train SE7 departing from Hanoi station to Saigon station and when arriving at Cho Sy station, would return the passenger's belongings.

This morning, on train SE7, passenger Vu Ngoc Le happily received all of his forgotten belongings back, and sent his sincere thanks to the staff of train SE7/8 for their dedicated service, timely discovery, preservation, and return to the passenger.
