Main developments of the Thailand - Myanmar match on May 13.
Overall, Thailand did not completely dominate their opponents. However, Issara Sritaro's students still won easily, thanks to taking advantage of opportunities at the end of each half. Leading after the first half, Thailand scored two more goals at the end of the match to win 3-0. Sritaro's teachers and students will play Indonesia in the final.
With players of much better quality than Myanmar, Thailand dominated the game from the start. In the second minute, 18-year-old striker Yotsakon fired a low shot with his right foot from the edge of the penalty area, hitting the post. Thailand then created two more clear-cut chances, before Myanmar calmed down and deployed a good defensive counter-attack.
Just when Myanmar thought it was most difficult to concede a goal, Thailand scored from a set piece. In the 37th minute, Channarong crossed the ball accurately for Teerasak Poeiphimai to head into the top corner to open the score. The goal seemed to make it easier for Thailand, but Myanmar's efforts to fight back prevented the match from being decided early.

At the beginning of the second half, Myanmar started to push up their formation and created some good combinations in the Thai penalty area. Head coach Feichtenbeiner was not in charge due to suspension, but his players did not lose their fighting spirit. If Htet Aung or Zin Hein had been more accurate in finishing, Myanmar could have escaped the chasing position.
Myanmar’s push meant more space for Thailand to exploit. The Thai team missed many chances from Purachet and Channarong, and hit the post and crossbar twice in the second half. Coach Sritaro only breathed a sigh of relief when Leon James tapped the ball into the net from close range to make it 2-0 in the 87th minute. In the final minute of injury time, Anan sealed the 3-0 victory with a long-range shot into the top corner.
Thailand will compete for the gold medal with Indonesia at 8pm on May 16. On the same day, at 4pm, Vietnam will meet Myanmar in the bronze medal match.
