Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao, Director of the Department of General Research of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (VNVNONN- Ministry of Foreign Affairs ) Pham Thi Thu Huong, representatives of Vietnamese associations in Hungary, representatives of women's organizations from several European countries and nearly 160 female members. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Head of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Le Thi Thu Hang sent a congratulatory letter.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Phan Bich Thien, President of the Vietnamese Women's Union in Hungary, member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, reviewed the 20-year journey of formation and development of the Union with many difficulties and challenges but also achieved many successes. The Union has become a trusted address for connecting Vietnamese women in Hungary, and has become a core member in community activities, a prestigious organization with a representative agency, affirming a certain position in the local society; making significant contributions to the Vietnamese women's movement in Europe. On this occasion, the President of the Union expressed gratitude to the previous generations who laid the foundation for the development of the Union, thanked the female members who voluntarily contributed a lot of effort, heart, and silent sacrifice with the desire to unite together to do meaningful work for women and the community. She also thanked the close attention and support of the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, the VNVNONN Committee and relevant domestic agencies, Vietnamese associations in Hungary, organizations and Hungarian friends over the past time.
Ms. Phan Bich Thien believes that the Vietnamese Women's Association in Hungary will continue to take steady steps on the path of development, will have a plan and implement well the generational transfer and will always be a warm and united home for Vietnamese women in Hungary, connecting with women in European countries, and will integrate more deeply and widely according to the criteria "Connecting strength, reaching the European sky".
On this occasion, the Vietnamese Women's Association in Hungary and its President, Dr. Phan Bich Thien, were honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs for their many contributions to community activities. At the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao also presented Certificates of Merit to members who have made positive contributions to the Association's activities.
