Connecting trade and promoting trade in the North Central region

On the morning of June 16, the Department of Industry and Trade of Thua Thien Hue coordinated with the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and the Department of Industry and Trade of the North Central provinces to organize a conference to connect trade between suppliers and export enterprises and trade promotion organizations in the North Central region in 2023.

The North Central region includes 6 provinces: Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa. This is considered a strategic economic region of Vietnam in general and the Central region in particular; an important bridge, connecting the key economic regions of the Central and Northern regions; has an important strategic position in terms of politics, culture and society.

In the first 6 months of 2023, local authorities of the North Central provinces coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to effectively implement national trade promotion projects for provinces in the North Central region, such as preparing to organize the implementation of the project: Organizing to welcome foreign business delegations to Vietnam to trade and purchase goods with localities in the North Central region, trade connection activities with provinces and cities in the country, with export markets are also promoted, strengthened and given much attention by provinces in the region.

The implementation of national projects and programs on trade promotion has contributed to promoting economic and trade exchanges between provinces in the region with the whole country and abroad. At the same time, it has created opportunities for organizations and enterprises to promote and introduce brands and products, especially typical rural industrial products, OCOP products, and specialties of the North Central region; bringing goods closer to consumers; understanding consumer tastes, seeking opportunities and markets, introducing achievements and economic development potential of the North Central region, contributing to promoting comprehensive and sustainable socio-economic development of the provinces in the North Central region.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Thua Thien Hue said that the conference is a very meaningful and practical event, creating conditions for businesses, traders, cooperatives of the provinces in the North Central region and export enterprises, distributors across the country to meet, exchange experiences, learn about market information, connect supply and demand of goods; create opportunities to expand business markets, product consumption...

Speaking at the conference, Hoang Minh Chien - Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Department - Ministry of Industry and Trade said that this is an important trade promotion conference of the North Central region within the National Trade Promotion Program in 2023 directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province, coordinated by localities in the North Central region.

To contribute to promoting the advantages of the Central and North Central economic regions, supporting enterprises in the North Central region in particular, and enterprises and cooperatives across the country in general, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been and will continue to accompany localities to promote trade, support market development both domestically and internationally for local and regional products with strengths such as agricultural products, medicinal herbs, processed foods and specialty products, handicrafts, and industrial products.

“This conference will be an effective bridge, an important trade promotion channel, creating conditions for localities, enterprises, cooperatives of Thua Thien Hue province and provinces in the North Central region to expand domestic and export markets, directly access export units, domestic and foreign goods distributors; create opportunities for trade exchange; enhance the brand value of products and services of enterprises and cooperatives in the Central region in particular and the whole country in general”, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency Hoang Minh Chien emphasized.

At the conference, 8 distributors and export enterprises signed a cooperation agreement to consume products of 40 suppliers in the North Central region.
