Jensen Huang, CEO of the trillion-dollar corporation Nvidia, assessed that Vietnam is ready for AI development and pledged to cooperate in this process.
At the Seminar on Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Development, organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment on the morning of December 11 in Hoa Lac, Mr. Jensen Huang assessed that AI is becoming a new wave and an important condition for the development of every country. He stated that Vietnam is ready for new technology and will invest in improving human capacity as well as infrastructure for Vietnam.
"We told the Prime Minister that we will commit to making Vietnam Nvidia's second home. We will establish a legal entity in Vietnam," said Mr. Huang.

According to Nvidia CEO, to take advantage of the AI wave, countries need three components and "Vietnam has enough". First is data assets on language and culture after decades of digitization and people are ready to use mobile platforms. Second is human resources and third is infrastructure.
"Artificial intelligence is software, and software is created by humans. To have a strong force of software experts like Vietnam is not easy," he said.
However, once all the components are in place, Vietnam needs to have a strong vision and commitment to developing new technologies. Nvidia representatives believe that from the current engineering team, Vietnam can train and improve its capacity to serve AI development and Nvidia will participate in this process.
Mr. Huang said that he would set up a design center in Vietnam. Mentioning that Vietnam already has many computer scientists working around the world and is one of the largest software exporters, he said that Vietnam can create "a million AI engineers" and be the world's strongest AI engineering team. Nvidia will also cooperate with domestic partners to develop AI infrastructure, including supercomputers, data centers, and research and development centers.
"This trip will definitely open up future trips. I will return to Vietnam, to Nvidia's second homeland," he said.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Planning and Investment, asked Nvidia to research and implement investment projects on semiconductors and artificial intelligence in Vietnam. "The Vietnamese government is committed to creating all favorable conditions for Nvidia to operate here," he said.
The Minister also suggested that Nvidia consider building an R&D facility and a semiconductor chip design laboratory in Vietnam's high-tech park, and at the same time provide advice and support to training facilities in terms of resources and experts in building training and practice programs in the fields of semiconductors and artificial intelligence; and create conditions for Vietnamese engineers and students to participate in internships and work at Nvidia.

Talking about the previous "food tour", Mr. Huang said: "This is my first time coming to Vietnam and I discovered many interesting things. I ate at the market and people recognized me. I am also a famous person in Vietnam. I felt very welcome, like coming home. Thank you very much."
On December 9, after arriving in Hanoi, the 60-year-old billionaire dressed comfortably in a T-shirt and black jeans and enjoyed Vietnamese street food with his staff. He chose a sidewalk restaurant on Luong Ngoc Quyen Street, sat on a plastic chair, had snails and spring rolls on the table, and drank beer. He also stopped by another restaurant on Hang Non Street and ate beef pho and drank coconut water.
Jensen Huang, co-founder of Nvidia, became a superstar in the semiconductor industry when his company's graphics chips became sought after. Born in Taipei in 1963, Huang has lived in Taiwan and Thailand. In 1993, he and two friends Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem founded Nvidia with an initial capital of $40,000.
In early 2022, the company announced the H100 - the world's most powerful GPU at the time - but analysts said the launch was poorly timed, as businesses were looking to tighten spending and lay off workers. However, by the end of last year, ChatGPT unexpectedly created a global fever, making Nvidia's AI chip sought after. Nvidia's market capitalization went from 400 billion in January to 1,000 billion USD at the end of May.
