Lebanese security sources told The Times of Israel that this was one of the most intense bombardments since Hezbollah began attacking Israel's northern border in October 2023, parallel to the Hamas-Israel conflict.
Earlier on September 19, two Israeli soldiers were killed and nine soldiers were injured after Hezbollah's missile and drone attacks.

On the same day, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said on television that he would take revenge on Israel after a series of explosions of mobile devices belonging to the organization's members in Lebanon and Syria.
Lebanon's Health Ministry said 37 people were killed and about 3,000 injured in the blasts. Hezbollah said at least 38 of its members had been killed since the afternoon of September 17, but did not give a reason. Hezbollah blamed Israel for the blasts, but Tel Aviv did not comment.
The Israeli military is preparing for all-out war with Hezbollah and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant described the fighting as entering a new phase.
He declared that the Israeli army would continue its offensive in Lebanon to bring northern residents back home, completing the new objective of the war.
