"Our officials will decide how Iran will respond to the Israeli attack. What is in the best interests of the nation and the country will be done," Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was quoted as saying by Nour News agency.
Mr Khamenei also added that "the Israeli attack should not be exaggerated or downplayed" .

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it struck military targets in Iran in response to an attack on the country on October 1. CBS News reported that Israel's attack on Iran was limited to military targets unrelated to nuclear or oil facilities.
According to Iranian officials, one of the targets of Israel's airstrikes was the S-300 missile system protecting Tehran's nuclear facilities. Most recently, Israel attacked Iran's S-300 air defense missile system at Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Iranian officials say how Iran responds to Israel will depend on the severity and scope of the attack.
Israel launched a large-scale air campaign against Iran in response to Tehran's ballistic missile launch earlier this month. Tel Aviv said it targeted military targets in Tehran, Ilam, and Khuzestan, and warned it would retaliate if Iran retaliated for the airstrikes.
The IDF said Israel carried out three waves of strikes on Iranian military targets. Among the military sites targeted were multiple air defense batteries and a ballistic missile factory. These were the same sites used in Iran’s last direct attack on Israel on October 1 and an earlier attack on April 14.
The Israeli Jerusalem Post reported that the raid on Iran used more than 100 fighter jets, including F-35 stealth fighters. All Israeli planes returned safely to base after the operation ended.
