According to MacRumors , some new rumors appearing in Korea reveal that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max model will likely have a very large battery life, said to be the longest ever in the iPhone product line.
Naver user "yeux1122", who is quite famous for sharing insider information from the supply chain, confirmed a series of rumors about the iPhone 16 Pro, including the increased screen size from 6.1 to 6.3 inches. Along with that, the larger overall size and internal changes of the device will allow it to have better optical zoom capabilities, possibly thanks to the use of a 5x telephoto lens with a tetraprism like the iPhone 15 Pro Max launched last year.
iPhone 16 Pro Max could have the longest battery life ever
Naver also said the size increase will likely be barely noticeable compared to the current model, but the bezels will still be larger than those on Samsung's Galaxy S24. The device is also said to come with a battery that is the same size or larger. The iPhone 16 Pro was the only device in the lineup that wasn't mentioned in a report last week about the battery capacity of the new iPhone generation.
In a follow-up post, Naver explains that many of the iPhone 16 Pro's components will be improved in terms of power consumption. Most notably, the report says the iPhone 16 Pro Max will include a larger battery to achieve the longest battery life ever on an iPhone. The iPhone 15 Pro Max currently has a battery life of up to 29 hours, so it's possible that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will surpass 30 hours.
Last week's report suggested that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a 5% larger battery than its predecessor, totaling 4,676mAh. While that's only a small increase, it's possible that other improvements in power efficiency will help increase the device's overall battery life.
Other details revealed on Naver include rumors that the iPhone 16 Pro models will continue to feature 8GB of RAM and that Apple has improved the device's titanium frame manufacturing process to reduce costs. The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to be announced this fall.
