Some changes on iOS 18. Photo: Apple

While Apple Intelligence isn’t coming to iOS 18 yet, the operating system still packs a lot of interesting features. The iOS 18 update was released by Apple at 12:00 a.m. on September 17 (Vietnam time), compatible with iPhone SE 2, iPhone SE 3, and iPhone XR and later. Four iPhone 16 models – iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max – come with iOS 18 pre-installed when they reach customers.

If you own one of the compatible iPhones, you can download iOS 18 by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 18 was first introduced by Apple at the WWDC 2024 Developer Conference. iPhones with iOS 18 can change the layout of applications and widgets on the home screen. In the Control Center area, users can adjust more things such as the music they are listening to or specific applications, change the camera shortcut and flashlight on the lock screen.

In addition, iOS 18 also brings a much-anticipated feature, which is to lock or hide any application with a password or Face ID. If you don't want anyone to know which application you installed, you can move it to the Hidden folder in the App Library.

iOS 18 redesigns the Photos app to make it easier for users to search for specific images and organize photos in more ways. The new Passwords app securely stores all login information and syncs passwords across Apple devices.

With AirPods Pro 2, users can interact with Siri just by nodding or shaking their head. In the Messages app, they can schedule messages to be sent later, interact with messages, and format text with new effects like bold and underline.
