Heat waves form when static (little moving) air in a locality or region causes unusually hot weather lasting from a few days to more than a week.
Millions of people across three continents, Asia, Europe and America, are currently suffering from severe heat, widespread forest fires, and health risks as temperatures continue to set new record highs.
According to experts, the heat waves that have engulfed Europe and the world are not a single phenomenon but rather a series of phenomena occurring simultaneously. All of them are intensified and more severe due to one factor: climate change.
