Accordingly, during the match between Bahrain and Japan in September, Bahraini fans continuously shined laser lights at the faces of Japanese players. Notably, during the penalty kick situation, Ueda was hit by a series of laser beams in his face, causing him to be distracted.
Following the incident, Bahrain was fined by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). However, Indonesia is concerned that this will affect the players during the match. There is no guarantee that Bahraini fans will not shine lasers in the faces of Indonesian players.
In response to the situation, PSSI has stated that it will sue Bahrain if fans continue to "play tricks". Senior PSSI official Arya Sinulingga said: "We hope that nothing like this will happen. We want the matches to be fair, and for all sides to be able to contribute in a healthy atmosphere.
Even if they win, Bahrain should be happy because they lost in a beautiful way. And if we lose, it will be because of the technical side, not because of side issues. If Bahraini fans use lasers, we will definitely report it to higher levels like AFC or FIFA."

Speaking before the match, coach Shin Tae Yong was very confident. He said: "This is a big match for us and for Bahrain. The result of this match is very important. Therefore, the entire Indonesian team will prepare everything seriously. Hopefully we will have a good performance against Bahrain.
All the members of Indonesia are doing a very good job so far. They are trying their best. I believe the players will show their best performance in the match against Bahrain."
Currently, Indonesia is ranked 4th in Group C of the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup with 2 points. Meanwhile, Bahrain is ranked right above with 3 points.
