IHG appoints leader for resort in partnership with BIM Land

With over 20 years of extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having held many positions in China, Japan, Vietnam and Europe, Mr. Jesper is now taking on a new position as the leader of a luxury resort in one of Vietnam's famous tourist cities.

Mr. Jesper Larsen shared his joy at launching the first IHG resort in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh and Vietnam, which is currently one of the most attractive destinations in Asia.

"InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is an international luxury hotel brand with over 75 years of history. With the recent rebranding initiatives, we are embarking on an exciting new chapter, introducing unique brand identities to best meet the diverse needs of today's luxury traveler.

I expect the perfect combination of accommodation experience, sophisticated and classy cuisine , combined with the hospitality of the Vietnamese people here will be a gift for tourists and residents of the project. I believe that this will be the driving force to promote the development of the tourism industry in Ha Long Bay," said Mr. Jesper Larsen.

The resort marks IHG’s expansion into Quang Ninh province, through a partnership with long-time partner BIM Land, a member of BIM Group. IHG and BIM have previously collaborated on a number of tourism real estate projects, including Regent Phu Quoc, InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort, Crowne Plaza Vientiane and the upcoming Holiday Inn Vientiane. The partnership has been growing for a decade.

Located just a two-hour drive from Hanoi, the resort features 174 luxurious rooms and suites, 60 one- to three-bedroom apartments and 41 luxury villas. Guests can enjoy dining at five restaurants and bars serving Asian and international cuisine, swim in four swimming pools, work out at the state-of-the-art gym, a kids club, a luxury spa and a state-of-the-art conference center that can accommodate up to 500 guests.

In Vietnam, IHG is planning to double the number of hotels in Vietnam within the next three years by opening more than 26 hotels, including InterContinental Halong Bay Resort and Residences.
