Vietnam Airports Corporation and Phu Quoc International Airport received the International Standard for Ground Operations Safety (ISAGO) certification on February 3, 2025 after successfully passing the assessment of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Previously, a team of IATA experts came to work and conduct a detailed assessment of ground service work at ACV and Phu Quoc International Airport according to international standards issued and implemented by IATA.

Specifically, IATA experts assessed compliance with ISAGO procedures and standards on organizational structure, quality safety management system, security, training, maintenance procedures, and equipment maintenance. At the same time, they assessed ground operations such as: Load control; passenger and baggage service; apron service; aircraft towing and pushing service; cargo service. Through the inspection of the management system at ACV and the assessment of the actual operating procedures and documents of Phu Quoc International Airport, all strict requirements and standards were met.

Speaking at the certification ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huong, IATA Country Director in Vietnam, said: "ISAGO is not only an inspection but also a global standard for ground safety in the aviation industry. The ISAGO program evaluates criteria from operational procedures to risk management, training and equipment safety. Achieving this certification means that ACV has achieved excellent quality in its ground operations. This achievement puts ACV in the list of airport operators that consider safety as a top priority. ISAGO and compliance are not just an inspection exercise, but an ongoing commitment between registrations, accreditations and inspections, the standards must always be maintained and unchanged."

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung, Deputy General Director of ACV, emphasized: "ACV is committed to continuing to maintain and improve safety standards, service quality, and constantly improve and innovate to meet the increasing needs of passengers and partners. We hope that the airports that ACV is managing and operating will continue to receive IATA support in assessing and granting this important certification, contributing to affirming ACV's capacity and experience in the field of providing technical services and ground trade. This will be an important premise to attract more airlines to expand flights to destinations in Vietnam."

Launched in 2007, ISAGO (IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations) is a safety assessment standard for ground service providers applied by more than 290 units at nearly 300 airports worldwide. Developed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), ISAGO aims to ensure that airport ground operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

Following the development trend of the world, ISAGO has become a prerequisite for all future cooperation in the field of air transport. In addition, ISAGO certification also helps create a common standard for the entire aviation industry.
