The Vietnamese women's team will leave for Uzbekistan tomorrow evening (October 23) to participate in the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics. One day before departure, coach Mai Duc Chung announced the list of 22 players.
The three players who will not continue to accompany the Vietnam women's team are striker Ngoc Minh Chuyen (Thai Nguyen Club), midfielder Nguyen Thi Truc Huong (Vietnam Coal and Minerals Club) and defender Pham Thi Lan Anh (Hanoi Club).
These are all players born after 2000, recently called up to the national team by the coaching staff.
Compared to the list of players attending the 19th Asian Games in China, the Vietnamese women's team participating in the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics has the name Huynh Nhu - a striker who was absent earlier because she was busy competing in the Portuguese Women's Championship.

Recently, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has worked with Lank FC so that Huynh Nhu can return to play for the Vietnamese women's team in the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics and was accepted by the Portuguese club.
Huynh Nhu just scored her first goal for Lank FC in the new 2023-2024 season on October 21. She scored the equalizer 2-2 for Lank FC in the 84th minute of the match against Braga, but in the end, the home team still lost 2-4 after 2 consecutive goals in injury time.
According to plan, Huynh Nhu will fly from Portugal to Uzbekistan on October 24 to join the Vietnamese women's team.
The presence of this 32-year-old striker promises to be of great help to coach Mai Duc Chung and his team in the upcoming competition.
In the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Vietnamese women's team in Group C will meet host Uzbekistan (October 26), India (October 29) and Japan (November 1).
Sharing about the team, midfielder Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy said: "After the 19th Asiad, the young players have started to get along with their seniors in the team. They were also given the opportunity to experiment and gain experience in the recent tournament. Currently, they are more confident and have better passes and coordination with other teammates."
