Parents go to school, slap teacher and post on social media - Photo cut from clip
On the evening of April 19, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Le Thanh Dong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Thanh district, Long An - said that he had directed the police to review the behavior of teacher N. who was beaten by parents of students who broke into the school and then filmed a clip and posted it on social media.
"The teacher who hit the student was wrong. The district has dealt with the teacher's wrongdoing. But the act of the parent coming to the school and slapping the teacher must also be considered and dealt with according to regulations. The district has directed the police to consider clarifying and dealing with this act as well," Mr. Dong informed.
As previously reported, on April 2, at Tan Binh Primary and Secondary School in Cay Sao, Tan Binh Commune, Tan Thanh, Ms. N. used a ruler to hit a first grade student because he refused to do a math calculation.
After beating her, Ms. N. realized she was wrong so she called H.'s mother via Zalo to apologize, but she did not answer the phone. When Ms. H. came to pick H. up, Ms. N. apologized.
However, after school, H.'s mother and two other people came to school with a very aggressive attitude. H.'s mother slapped Ms. N. once. The two people who went with her also intended to hit the teacher but were stopped by the principal and other teachers.
The incident was posted on social media by H.'s family. Local authorities asked them to delete the clip, but the family continued to post it.
After that, Ms. N. was disciplined and transferred to another school.
However, H.'s family asked N. to come meet the family to talk and not continue posting the incident on social media.
