As soon as information about the incident was received, on the morning of August 20, in Nam Khat commune, Mu Cang Chai district, district leaders met to commend and present a certificate of merit from the district People's Committee to doctor Giang A Vinh - who directly assisted the woman who gave birth on the road.

Actively participate in learning to improve professional qualifications and skills to effectively perform health care tasks of Nam Khat Commune Health Station in particular and the whole district in general.
Talking to Tuoi Tre Online on the morning of August 20, right after receiving an unexpected reward from the District People's Committee, Dr. Vinh expressed surprise that his small work was recognized by everyone.

As Tuoi Tre Online reported earlier, on the morning of August 17, a pregnant woman in Nam Khat commune (Mu Cang Chai district) was on her way to the district medical center to give birth, but along the way she had severe stomach pain so she stopped her car on the side of the road.
Luckily, the family met Dr. Giang A Vinh who was driving in the opposite direction and saw him. The doctor stopped the car and helped the mother give birth successfully.
The couple is Mr. Giang A Vang, born in 2002, and his wife is Ms. Chang Thi May, born in 2003.
The newborn baby is a boy, estimated to weigh about 2.8kg. Currently, the baby and mother's health are both normal.
Doctor Vinh added that in the highlands of Mu Cang Chai, it is not uncommon for a woman to give birth on the street. A few years ago, he had delivered a baby for a pregnant woman, but luckily it was in a car. This time, delivering a baby on the street also made him quite worried because of safety issues.
"However, due to the urgent situation, I could not do otherwise. In the highlands, many people do not have much knowledge about maternity care.
Like this pregnant woman, although she works in the locality where I work, she has never had an ultrasound, vaccination, or pregnancy monitoring at the commune health station. That is why the pregnant woman did not know her due date, leading to giving birth on the roadside," Dr. Vinh explained.
