The total state budget revenue of the whole district by December 31, 2023 reached 345,488 billion VND, reaching 105% of the assigned estimate, exceeding 5% and the excess revenue was 16,488 billion VND".

In 2023, Nam Giang district's total industrial and construction production value reached 3,337 billion VND, reaching 102.05% of the plan and increasing by 24.5% over the same period in 2022. The agricultural, forestry and fishery production sector reached 316.2 billion VND, reaching 100.51% of the plan and increasing by 3.6% over the same period in 2022.
The total area of annual crops reached 6,030.6 hectares, reaching 100.3% of the plan; grain output reached 7,112.32 tons, reaching 104.09% over the same period in 2022.
Regarding trade and services, the production value reached 608 billion VND, reaching 101.15% of the plan and increasing by 12.4% compared to 2022. Prices of essential goods, food safety, and goods supplied on the market always ensure quality and are rich and diverse in types, meeting people's shopping needs during peak times and daily activities.

Mr. Son said: "In recent times, the locality has continued agricultural and forestry production associated with new rural construction, effectively implementing the integration of programs and policies of the central, provincial and district levels. Prioritizing investment in development and social security; strengthening measures on land, forestry and mineral resource management associated with good implementation of planning, management plans, exploitation and rational use of resources in the district to serve socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security...".
Efforts to shorten the gap with the lowlands
Nam Giang is a mountainous district of Quang Nam province, bordering Laos, more than 85% of the population are ethnic minorities, the economy mainly depends on agricultural and forestry production, so people's lives are still lacking, the poverty rate is still high.

In 2023, the district promptly implemented social security policies and regimes to the local people. Poverty reduction work continued to receive attention and implementation. The results of the 2023 poverty household review showed a decrease of 553 households compared to 2022, exceeding 163 households compared to the province's assignment (rate of 141.8%), compared to the district's target, it exceeded 90 households (rate of 119.43%).
Along with that, Nam Giang district has built and handed over 238 houses to poor and near-poor households, and provided vocational training to 291 workers. Policy work for people with revolutionary contributions, caring for people's lives, support, relief, child care, gender equality and prevention of social evils have been paid attention to, monitored, implemented fully, promptly and effectively.

In 2024, Nam Giang will promote the mobilization of all resources, diversify investment forms in agricultural and forestry development associated with new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction; organize preliminary reviews and evaluate the effectiveness of production development models and large-scale timber plantation as a basis for widespread application; implement the OCOP program; effectively direct the implementation of the new rural construction program, the set of criteria for new rural communes and model new rural villages.
