On the morning of May 27, the working delegation of Luc Ngan district (Bac Giang) led by Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, had a working session with the Management Board of Lao Cai Economic Zone on connecting and supporting the promotion of lychee export through Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II (Kim Thanh Border Gate).
Working with the Luc Ngan District Delegation were leaders of the Lao Cai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and units: Customs, Border Guard, Plant Quarantine.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hai, Vice Chairman of Luc Ngan District People's Committee, provided an overview of the socio-economic development situation; some orientations for economic development in general and agricultural production in particular. Recently, the district has also paid attention to trade promotion to consume agricultural products for the people, especially expanding the lychee consumption market when it is harvest time.
Top priority for lychee export
In 2023, Luc Ngan district will maintain production of over 17,000 hectares of lychee. This year, the output of fresh lychee is expected to be over 80,000 tons, of which 45,000 tons will be exported (about 15,000 tons will be exported through Kim Thanh Border Gate).
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Luc Ngan district hopes that the Economic Zone Management Board and functional departments of Lao Cai province will pay attention and create the best conditions for the consumption and export of agricultural products of Luc Ngan district, especially lychee, to be most favorable.
At the meeting, representatives of Luc Ngan district’s professional departments and agencies and inter-sectoral units at Kim Thanh Border Gate discussed further the situation of lychee consumption and export; some issues on water management, import-export activities; customs clearance of goods and agricultural products, etc.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vuong Trinh Quoc, Head of the Lao Cai Economic Zone Management Board, affirmed that he will always prioritize, care for, and support Luc Ngan lychees to be cleared as quickly as possible to China through Kim Thanh Border Gate. The Head of the Lao Cai Economic Zone Management Board also discussed the issues raised by the Luc Ngan District Working Group, and noted that the locality needs to pay attention to arranging and arranging reasonable means of transportation, preserving agricultural products, and related procedures before arriving at Kim Thanh Border Gate.
