Cu M'gar District: The first 3 people who have completed their prison sentences are eligible to borrow social policy credit capital.

On October 22, the Transaction Office of the Social Policy Bank of Cu M'gar district disbursed loans to the first 3 people who had completed their prison sentences to borrow social policy credit capital according to Decision No. 22/2023/QD-TTg, dated August 17, 2023 of the Prime Minister on credit for people who have completed their prison sentences.

The 3 people who received loans this time all live in Cu Sue commune, have the need and meet the conditions to borrow capital for the purpose of investing in growing durian and raising pigs for breeding. The total loan amount is 230 million VND, of which 2 people received loans of 100 million VND/person, 1 person received a loan of 30 million VND.

The first customers in Cu M'gar district received loans under Decision No. 22.

Decision No. 22/2023/QD-TTg officially takes effect from October 10, 2023. According to this Decision, the group of customers eligible for loans are those who have completed their prison terms, have been released from prison, and production and business establishments that employ workers who have completed their prison sentences, meet the conditions for vocational training, loans for production, business, and vocational training. If borrowing for vocational training, the maximum is 4 million VND/month/person; if borrowing for production and business, the maximum is 100 million VND/person.

For production establishments, the maximum loan amount is 2 billion VND/project and not more than 100 million VND/employee at the production and business establishment. The loan interest rate for those who have completed their prison sentence is applied at the same interest rate for poor households.

The loan program for people who have completed their prison sentences according to Decision No. 22/2023/QD-TTg of the Government is one of the humane policies, helping them to overcome their inferiority complex, reintegrate into the community, and find stable jobs when returning to their hometowns.
