Raised over 400 million VND from the Cam Lo Association Tennis Tournament to raise the first "Cam Lo Love" Charity Fund

This morning, May 25, in Go Vap District (Ho Chi Minh City), the Cam Lo Association in Ho Chi Minh City organized the first "Cam Lo Love" Charity Fundraising Tennis Tournament in 2024.

The tournament had nearly 200 athletes from Tennis Clubs in Ho Chi Minh City, the Southern provinces, the Central Highlands and Cam Lo District Tennis Club, competing in the 1,250 and 1,325 events.

The “Cam Lo Tinh Thuong” Charity Tennis Tournament, in addition to strengthening solidarity among Tennis Clubs and developing the sports movement, also connects charitable organizations and individuals to raise charity funds to support disadvantaged people and help poor but studious students in their hometown of Cam Lo.

As a result, the Organizing Committee of the tournament raised more than 400 million VND from sponsors who are businesses and children of Quang Tri living, working and studying in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern provinces.

Chairman of the Cam Lo Charity Tennis Association in Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Duc Tu said that although this was the first time the tournament was held, it was well received by many athletes. What was special was that the athletes competed very enthusiastically with a noble sportsmanship spirit, but did not focus on winning or losing, but all they wanted was to call on many benefactors to donate to support scholarships to help students in Cam Lo go to school as much as possible.

“After the success of this tournament, we will continue to organize it every year with more athletes participating. The money raised in the tournaments will support the construction of solidarity houses, give gifts to poor households, and organize social security activities in the hometown,” Mr. Tu added.

In recognition of the charitable activities of the Cam Lo Association in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Lo district awarded the certificate of "Golden Heart" to 40 units and individuals who supported the district's "For the Poor" Fund with VND 5 million or more.

“I think this is a very meaningful tournament, because despite the difficult conditions, Cam Lo children have united together to organize a tournament of such scale and created a relatively large fund to support their hometown children to have the conditions to strive to study well. Through this tournament, Cam Lo children far from home will be more united, support each other, and create conditions for each other to develop. The district leaders highly appreciate the hearts of Cam Lo children in Ho Chi Minh City, the sponsors and hope that these activities will be organized annually so that Cam Lo people far from home have the opportunity to meet each other, together have more volunteer activities towards their hometown”, Chairman of Cam Lo District People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan shared.
