Responding to the International Day of Older Persons and National Action Month for Older Persons in 2024

On October 1, the Provincial Elderly Association's Representative Board coordinated with the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning and the People's Committee of Quang Lac Commune (Nho Quan) to organize a conference to respond to the International Day of Older Persons (October 1) and the National Action Month for the Elderly in 2024.

The speech presented by the Provincial Association of the Elderly at the conference stated: On April 25, 2015, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 544/QD-TTg to designate October every year as "Action Month for the Elderly in Vietnam". The 2024 Action Month has the theme "Joining hands to protect, care for and promote the role of the elderly". In addition, the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly calls on the elderly nationwide to continue to promote the role of "The older the age, the higher the ambition, setting a shining example for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland", actively contributing to the innovation process led by our Party.

Therefore, responding to the International Day of Older Persons and the National Action Month for Older Persons in 2024 aims to promote and further enhance the responsibility of Party committees at all levels, authorities, sectors, organizations, families, society and the elderly to pay attention to and promote the protection, care and promotion of the role of the elderly, contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Affirming that paying attention to and doing a good job of protecting, caring for and promoting the role of the elderly is an ethical value, a traditional morality, and a cultural strength of the nation.

At the conference, representatives of the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning informed about the results of elderly health care work and the Coordination Program in health care activities in Ninh Binh province in recent years; announced the agreement on selecting pilot communes to implement elderly health care activities between the Department of Population and Family Planning and the Provincial Elderly Association Representative Board.
