Speaking at the opening of the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed that in the first quarter of 2025, the macro economy was stable, major balances were ensured; all three sectors of industry, agriculture, and services grew positively, especially agriculture. Politics and society were stable, national defense and security were consolidated, foreign affairs were promoted, diplomatic activities were very vibrant; maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for national development.

According to the report of the Ministry of Finance, in the first quarter of this year, our country's GDP growth is estimated at 6.93% compared to the same period last year. This positive result helps Vietnam continue to be among the countries with the highest growth in the world and the region. The average consumer price index (CPI) in the first quarter increased by 3.22% over the same period. State budget revenue reached 36.7% of the estimate, up 29.3% over the same period, of which domestic revenue is estimated at 38.7% of the estimate, ensuring resources for development investment and implementing policies to support people and businesses. Import-export turnover in the first quarter increased by 13.7% over the same period; trade surplus is estimated at 3.16 billion USD.
