The culinary website TasteAtlas has just finalized a list of the 50 most worth-experienced culinary cities in the world, with two locations from Vietnam making it to the top.
Ranking higher than the two is Hue, the culinary center of the Central region, ranked 35th by TasteAtlas, ahead of the locations of "culinary powerhouses" such as Mexico, Brazil...
Coming to Hue, TasteAtlas reviewers advise food lovers to try Hue beef noodle soup, grilled spring rolls, banh beo, banh khoai, com hen, banh bot loc... along with a list of delicious and affordable restaurants they have tried here.
Among them, grilled pork vermicelli stands out as one of the best noodle/rice vermicelli dishes in the world according to this site's ranking.
Hanoi enters TasteAtlas top 50 for the first time
Close behind is the capital Hanoi at 40th place, Hanoi also excels in front of famous cities such as Shanghai (China), Marseille (France), New Delhi (India)...
Although ranked lower than Hue, Hanoi stands out with countless dishes that are in the must-try list of TasteAtlas, including pho, grilled pork vermicelli, crab vermicelli, snail vermicelli, spring rolls...
Many famous restaurants here are also named by TasteAtlas such as: Bun Cha 34, Pho Bat Dan, Xoi Yen, Pho 10...

The culinary capital of the South, Ho Chi Minh City, unfortunately fell out of the top 50, as did Hanoi, which has a variety of delicious dishes from neighboring regions.
Notably, beef stew is holding the title of the best Vietnamese breakfast dish and is in the top 30 best breakfast dishes in the world.
A special thing about this place is that the delicacies of the Central and Northern regions are just as prominent as those of the South. Ho Chi Minh City's version of pho, bun rieu, bun bo Hue... are highly praised by critics and included in the list of must-try dishes.
This year, Hue temporarily dropped 6 places compared to last year's culinary city rankings.
However, the top 50 welcomes a major Vietnamese landmark, Hanoi. It is likely that next year our country's cities will continue to rise in rank as TasteAtlas' culinary experts enjoy other excellent dishes and eateries in Vietnam.
This year, the top four spots on the list all belong to Italy, with Naples, Milan, Bologna and Florence in the top four.
Last year, the same thing happened when the top three cities were Rome, Bologna and Naples, affirming the position of Italian cuisine in the world.
