The Ban Mong Reservoir Project is built on the Hieu River, with a reservoir area of 25 square kilometers, mainly located in the districts of Quy Hop, Quy Chau, Nghia Dan, Nghe An province and partly in Nhu Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province. The main project is located in Yen Hop commune, Quy Hop district.
The Ban Mong Reservoir Project Phase 1 in Nghe An Province has a capacity of 225 million m3, 8 water pumping stations along the Hieu River and a 45MW hydropower plant. Phase 1 of the project has a total estimated investment of VND5,552 billion, allocated from the State budget.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De spoke at the meeting. |
In 2010, the project was started, with the Irrigation Construction and Investment Management Board 4 as the investor of the main works cluster and the Nghe An Department of Agriculture and Rural Development as the investor of the compensation, support and resettlement component. Currently, the main works cluster is 96% complete, the remaining volume of the project is site clearance work.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep chaired the meeting at the main bridge point of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. |
Regarding the adjustment of the component project, the required deadline is October 31, 2024, but the most difficult problem is the adjustment of Chau Binh canal. This is considered the key basis for implementing the next steps. Therefore, Nghe An province proposes that there should be a reasonable design adjustment plan for the construction of Chau Binh canal to ensure safety after blocking the main project. The tasks that must continue to be carried out are handling the problem of 46 hectares of forest and relocating some households in Binh Quang village, 400 graves behind the auxiliary dam; completing the work of reforestation to replace the remaining area of 184.64/544.77 hectares.
