CGTN. Honduras opens its first embassy in China, two months after the two sides established diplomatic relations and amid a visit to the country by Honduran President Xiomara Castro.

YONHAP. ​​South Korean police arrested a total of 77 people involved in 35 commercial espionage cases in a crackdown from February 1 to May 31.

KOREA TIMES. South Korea and Saudi Arabia will set up a joint fund worth 208.4 billion won ($155 million) to help Korean startups attract investment and access the Middle East market.

JAKARTA POST. Six F-16 C/D Block 40 fighter jets of the US Air Force will participate in the joint air exercise called Cope West 2023 with the Indonesian Air Force from June 12-23.

ANTARA. Indonesian Transport Minister Budi Karya Sumadi inaugurated two floating hospitals, Laksamana Malahayati and Kapal Kesehatan Rakyat, to serve people on remote islands.

INDIAN EXPRESS. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa over the phone and discussed South Africa's peace initiative on the Ukraine conflict, among other issues.

PTI. Heavy rains and strong winds have killed at least 34 people , including eight children, injured more than 140 people and killed hundreds of livestock in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

DAWN. Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the first shipment of discounted Russian crude oil under a new deal reached between Islamabad and Moscow has arrived in Karachi.

TIMES OF ISRAEL. Israeli police have uncovered a cocaine smuggling ring from South America into the central Jewish city of Tira and arrested several suspects.

IRNA. Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei left open the possibility of reaching a nuclear deal with the United States, warning that the United States and the West must not influence Iran's nuclear industry.

During a visit to an exhibition of Iran's nuclear projects, Khamenei said: "There is no problem with a nuclear deal, but Iran's nuclear industry must not be touched."

ASTANA. Three people were killed and 11 others are reported missing in a recent forest fire in the Abai region of eastern Kazakhstan.

Europe

DW. During a meeting on June 11 in Berlin, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili discussed issues related to Georgia's EU candidacy.

SPUTNIK. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a decree imposing sanctions on 178 individuals, mainly Russian citizens, at the request of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

LA REPUBBLICA. Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said that the issue of Ukraine's NATO membership will be decided after the end of the conflict with Russia.

REUTERS. Poland was not involved in the explosions at two Nord Stream gas pipelines from Russia to Europe, according to a spokesman for the minister coordinating special services, Stanislaw Zaryn.

WAM. President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan concluded a visit to Türkiye to promote cooperation between the two countries in a range of fields, especially economic.

AFP. Romania said it had recalled its ambassador to Kenya, Dragos Viorel Tigau, over allegations he compared a monkey to an African during a meeting in the capital Nairobi.

America

AP. In the first four months of this year, Chilean authorities received more than 3,400 reports of missing women, of which just over 1,900 cases were found.

CNBC. Former US President Donald Trump was indicted on 37 counts , after he illegally retained top secret files on US nuclear and weapons programs and defense plans after leaving the White House.

The US Department of Justice stated: “The unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could pose a risk to US national security.”

TORONTO SUN. Canada has committed more than CAD 69.5 million ($51.1 million) to peace, stability and counterterrorism projects in the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, according to the Department of Global Affairs.

CBC. Rain and outside help are needed to help the Canadian province of Quebec extinguish more than 100 wildfires that have caused smoke to blanket several Atlantic coastal cities.

TVB. People in Uruguay are living with severe water shortages and authorities have had to use heavy drilling equipment to search for underground water.

Africa

AFP. A World Health Organization (WHO) staff member was killed in an attack on the luxury Pearl Beach Hotel in Somalia's capital Mogadishu on June 9.

EGYPT NEWS. Egypt has begun a new policy requiring all Sudanese citizens to obtain a visa before entering the country, after discovering “illegal activities” including the issuance of fake visas.

AHRAM. Egypt welcomes the efforts of the Libyan 6+6 Joint Committee , composed of representatives of the Libyan National Assembly and the High Council of State, to draft an electoral law.

AFP. The UN has expressed support for Special Envoy to Sudan Volker Perthes, while criticizing the Sudanese government's decision to declare Volker "persona non grata" as a violation of international law.

ANI. Australian Development Minister Pat Conroy met Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on the sidelines of the G20 Ministerial Meeting from June 11-13 in Varanasi, northern India, to discuss bilateral and G20 cooperation.
