On the morning of the first day of resumption of operations after storm No. 3, September 14, more than 80 trucks of exported goods passed through the temporary pontoon bridge opening at Km3+4 Hai Yen.

According to the Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board, storm No. 3 caused floodwaters on the Ka Long border river to rise, causing the temporary pontoon bridge at Km3+4 Hai Yen to deviate. On September 12, after the floodwaters had receded, Thanh Dat Joint Stock Company coordinated with a Chinese enterprise to fix the problem of the deviated bridge at Km3+4 Hai Yen and reinforced and tested its safety on September 13.

This morning (September 14), more than 80 trucks carrying fruits, seafood, and dried goods were exported to China through this opening. In addition, there were dozens of trucks importing goods from China and trucks carrying fresh seafood exported to China.

It is known that from the beginning of the year to September 6, at the temporary pontoon bridge opening at Km 3+4 Hai Yen, there were 18,569 vehicles carrying 304,197 tons of import and export goods (an average of 79 vehicles/day, 1,294 tons/day), down 42% over the same period in 2023. Of which, there were 91,009 tons of fruit; 22,325 tons of tapioca flour; 145,697 tons of frozen seafood; 17,715 tons of dried seeds and other goods; 7,451 tons of live shrimp, crab, and fish. Imported goods reached 19,351 tons of miscellaneous goods, down 23% over the same period in 2023.
