Ham Tien Ward - Mui Ne - Phan Thiet City is a tourist and resort destination for domestic and foreign tourists . In recent years, the authorities have paid great attention to investing in infrastructure construction to improve the urban area, worthy of being a National Tourist Area.

However, there is no residential drainage system in this area, so some households discharge wastewater onto the street, causing conflicts among the people, affecting the urban beauty and damaging the road. To ensure drainage for the Ham Tien - Mui Ne area, the People's Council of Binh Thuan province approved the investment policy for the Mui Ne National Tourist Area Centralized Wastewater Treatment Project in Resolution No. 14/NQ-HDND dated July 17, 2021, with a total investment of more than 300 billion VND. Currently, the People's Committee of Phan Thiet city is conducting surveys and preparing a feasibility study report for approval according to regulations. When completed and put into use, the project will contribute to completing the sewer system for collecting rainwater and wastewater on main roads as well as surrounding roads.

On the other hand, to ensure drainage in residential areas and urban beautification, the City People's Committee approved the Economic - Technical Report on investment in the construction of the project to upgrade the extended Xuan Dieu Street, Mui Ne Ward in Decision No. 6165/QD-UBND dated November 18, 2020. The project has now been completed and put into use. The upgraded Xuan Dieu Street has a cement concrete structure and a D600 centrifugal concrete drainage system with a length of about 824 m. Regarding the investment in the construction of drainage and wastewater systems in Mui Ne Ward, the City People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 3326/UBND-QHDT dated June 24, 2022 requesting the People's Committee of Mui Ne Ward to conduct a field survey of areas where investment in a drainage system is necessary. On March 9, 2023, the City Urban Management Department sent an Official Dispatch to localities to register the capital plan for projects under the 2023 Rural Transport Project. After the People's Committee of Mui Ne Ward registers the investment plan, the City People's Committee will consider recording the implementation capital according to regulations.
