(Dan Tri) - Currently, there are more than 3,000 Vietnamese students studying at universities in Russia, of which more than 2,300 students are trained under the Agreement and have their tuition fees fully covered.
The above information was just released this afternoon (November 22) at the International Conference "Russian language and culture in the contemporary world: research and teaching issues for foreigners", organized by Hanoi University in collaboration with Voronezh State University (Russian Federation).
According to Prof. Dr. Trupandina Elena Evgenhevna, Acting Rector of Voronezh State University, Russian is one of the international languages, used by more than 250 million people, ranking fifth after English, Spanish, Chinese and French.
There are currently more than 3,000 Vietnamese students studying at universities in Russia, of which more than 2,300 students are trained under the Agreement and have their tuition fees fully covered.
Prof. Dr. Trupandina Elena Evgenhevna believes that, in the context of globalization, studying Russian will open up many opportunities for learners in various fields, from business, science to culture and art.
Knowing Russian opens up many career development opportunities for Vietnamese students, helping them access the Russian-speaking labor market and cultural integration.
In Vietnam, the strong development of comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, especially in the fields of economy, tourism, energy, oil and gas and defense, has contributed to reviving interest in Russian language, education and science.
Sharing at the workshop, Dr. Luong Ngoc Minh, Vice Principal of Hanoi University, said that Russian has been playing an important role in connecting countries.

In Vietnam, the strong development of comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, especially in the fields of economy, tourism, energy, oil and gas and defense, has contributed to reviving interest in Russian language, education and science.
With the participation of nearly 100 domestic and international delegates, the conference will focus on discussing issues such as: The role of Russian in the world today; Research on Russian culture and literature; Methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language; Building Russian language training programs at all levels; Compiling textbooks and materials for teaching Russian...
Mr. Sloma Oleg Stanislavovich, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in Vietnam, said that in the past, tens of thousands of Vietnamese people were trained and studied in Russian.
At the present stage, we need to preserve and cultivate this precious tradition. To do that, education plays an extremely important role.

"We are currently maintaining the Government's scholarship program. Within the framework of direct cooperation between universities, we have student and lecturer exchange programs.
"It is extremely important to build, expand and deepen diplomatic activities so as not to lose the legacy left by previous generations," said Mr. Sloma Oleg Stanislavovich.
Responding to Dan Tri reporters earlier, the leader of Hanoi University said that in recent years, rare language majors have attracted many candidates to register. The admission rate is high, and the enrollment quota is stable.
In particular, the employment rate of students majoring in rare languages after graduation is quite good at 90-92%.
