On the afternoon of February 20, in Hanoi, the Border Guard Command held a press conference to mark the beginning of spring. Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of the Border Guard, and Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Border Guard co-chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, Major General Tran Van Bung, Chief of Political Affairs of the Border Guard, highly appreciated the companionship and support of the press agencies. Major General Tran Van Bung said that in 2023, press agencies nationwide in general had over 21,000 news and articles (twice as many as in 2022).
In particular, there are many columns, topics, reports, and memoirs vividly reflecting 22 movements and programs with many models and typical examples of the Border Guard in performing training tasks, combat readiness, crime prevention and control, mass mobilization work, border diplomacy, border gate work, etc.

The press works have vividly portrayed the image of the exemplary Border Guard soldier, brave, intelligent, united, close, and attached to the people in performing his duties, enhancing the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era.
Information and propaganda work contributes to building a strong border defense posture and people's border defense, building, managing and firmly protecting border security and sovereignty; building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developing border with countries sharing borders with Vietnam.
At the meeting, representatives of the leaders of news agencies and newspapers respectfully thanked the Party Committee and the Border Guard Command for their attention and direction over the past time to the agencies and units in the force, creating favorable conditions for the team of reporters and editors to work, producing many quality news and articles that vividly reflect the combat life and production of border guards and people in the border area.
At the same time, the leaders of the Command expressed their hope that in the coming time, the parties will strengthen their coordination more effectively in providing information and disseminating information about events, contributing to regularly, promptly, clearly and deeply reflecting border activities, the tasks of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty, national border security and the performance of tasks of the Border Guard.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan, Political Commissar of the Border Guard affirmed: The coordination of propaganda between the Border Guard and the central press agencies and sectors and localities has achieved high results; clearly demonstrating the active and proactive implementation of the propaganda policy on borders, seas and islands.
The above results show the close, responsible, sincere and effective coordination between the Border Guard Command and the press agencies in general, especially the leaders of the press agencies and reporters present at the meeting.
In 2024, with many major events, Lieutenant General Nguyen Anh Tuan requested news agencies and press to:
Continue to accompany the border guards to widely propagate a number of key and meaningful activities such as: organizing the Ceremony to receive the Second Class Military Exploit Medal; summarizing 5 years of implementing the People's Border Guard Day for the period 2019-2024 and meeting to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Border Guard Tradition Day, 35th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day.
In coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Communist Magazine organized the second "Village Support" program, honoring prestigious people in the border area; strengthening information and communication work; organizing literary and artistic creation and publishing activities on the border and Border Guard topics; implementing meaningful foreign affairs activities with wide-reaching influence.
On this occasion, the Border Guard Command awarded Certificates of Merit to 13 collectives and 29 individuals from press agencies for their outstanding achievements in propaganda work on the border and the Border Guard in 2023.
