(BGDT) - On the morning of June 22, at the Provincial Sports Training and Competition House, Nghia Long Street, Tran Phu Ward (Bac Giang City), athletes officially entered the volleyball competition. This is one of the competitions at the 2023 National Women's Folk Dance and Sports Competition.

Participating in this sport are more than 200 athletes from 26 delegations including: Bac Giang, Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, Binh Thuan, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, Lao Cai, Bac Kan, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Yen Bai, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Lang Son, Quang Binh, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Cao Bang, Ben Tre, Kien Giang, Ha Giang and the Ministry of Public Security.

Accordingly, the teams were divided into 8 groups, competing in a round-robin format on June 22 and 23 with a total of 37 matches. There were 15 matches played on the morning of June 22.

The Organizing Committee is expected to award 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, and 3 Third Prizes. It is known that the Bac Giang team has 10 athletes. These are all excellent individuals selected from women's volleyball clubs in the province.

Previously, on the evening of June 21, the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) coordinated with the Provincial People's Committee to organize the opening ceremony of the 2023 National Women's Folk Dance and Sports Competition with the theme "Healthy and beautiful Vietnamese women". The competition included 3 competitions: Volleyball, badminton and folk dance with the participation of nearly 1,000 female cadres and members from 51 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.
