Thus, in the first 9 months of 2023, the total number of Vietnamese workers working abroad was 111,507 (including 38,816 female workers), reaching 101.37% of the plan. Specifically, in 2023, the industry's plan is to send 110,000 Vietnamese workers to work abroad under contracts.

The results achieved were 108.23% compared to the same period last year (in the first 9 months of 2022, the total number of Vietnamese workers working abroad was 103,026 workers).

Japan continues to lead the markets receiving Vietnamese workers, with 55,690 workers (23,758 female workers).

In recent years, Japan has always been the market that receives the most workers, due to its attractive working conditions, income and opening up many job opportunities for Vietnamese workers.

Last July, the Overseas Labor Management Department and Wakayama Province (Japan) also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on basic legal framework for receiving Vietnamese workers to work in this country.

In addition to Japan, Taiwan (China), and South Korea are also traditional markets with many job opportunities for Vietnamese workers. In the past 9 months, Taiwan received 46,166 workers (13,733 female workers), and South Korea received 2,449 workers (100 female workers).

The remaining markets include China with 1,361 workers, Hungary with 1,148 workers (551 female workers), Singapore with 1,015 male workers, Romania with 705 workers (84 female workers) and other markets.

According to the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs , along with market expansion, improving the quality of workers going to work abroad will also be focused on. To achieve the above goal, labor export enterprises must also be more proactive in improving the quality of human resources.

In particular, it is necessary to strengthen the connection between vocationaleducation and sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad, creating close links between service enterprises sending workers to work abroad and schools and vocational training facilities to have a source of labor that meets the requirements and conditions of foreign partners.
