More than 100 athletes participate in the golf tournament "THE FIRST ICHAM CUP" to celebrate 50 years of Vietnam-Italy relations

On May 31, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ICHAM) held a press conference to announce the golf tournament “THE FIRST ICHAM CUP”.

The golf tournament celebrates an important milestone in the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Italy, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (March 23, 1973 - March 23, 2023) and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership (2013 - 2023).

2023 also marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ICHAM). Over the past 15 years, ICHAM has continuously supported Italian and Vietnamese organizations and businesses in finding potential partners through market research, organizing B2B meetings, networking events, and technical seminars focusing on specific areas.

Opening speech, Chairman of ICHAM Michele D'ercole affirmed that this is an important time to organize the first golf tournament, because ICHAM is aware of the popularity of golf in the Vietnamese business community. Golf has gradually become a part of the daily life of Vietnamese people, providing individuals with the opportunity to connect and have fun.

Commenting on the vision of THE FIRST ICHAM CUP, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Antonio Alessandro said the tournament is an opportunity for Vietnam and Italy to enhance exchanges and cooperation. The tournament will take place in Vinh Phuc - the province receiving the largest investment from Italy. Therefore, the organization of ICHAM CUP is also a special occasion for the relationship between the Italian government and Vinh Phuc province.

2023 is also the year that Italy has the honor of hosting the Ryder Cup - one of the world's biggest golf tournaments, scheduled to be held in Rome from September 25 to October 1.

THE FIRST ICHAM CUP will take place from May 31 to August 7 with the participation of more than 100 athletes, including business guests, successful entrepreneurs and partners and members of ICHAM. In addition, there will be sideline activities such as seminars on green economy, sustainability and energy transition trends, and networking parties connecting businesses.
